Anyone who watches Kim Dao’s YouTube page knows how much she loves Pokémon. Many of the videos on Kim’s channel are dedicated to her favorite animated character: Pikachu. In one recent video, Kim Dao takes us on a trip with fellow YouTuber Toph (aka amadofu) to a Pikachu Festival in the Japanese city of Yokohama.
The first thing Kim does once she arrives in Yokohama is put on a stylish Pikachu hat. Toph also puts on a Pikachu hat to get in the festival spirit.
Kim Dao takes us on a tour of all the major touristy areas of Yokohama. She shows amazing roller coasters, a stunning Ferris wheel, as well as a few remarkably agile Pikachus on stage. There are tons of Pikachu stuffed animals for sale all around the festival grounds.
A few moments later, Kim Dao and Toph decide to get some lunch at a local restaurant called Brasserie La Class Shin Yokohama. Kim orders a hearty ham sandwich with a few veggies on the side.
After lunch, Toph and Kim Dao check out the Pokémon Store in Yokohama. The store is extremely crowded with fans of everything Pikachu.
Once they’re done shopping, Toph and Kim Dao head out to see the Pikachu Parade. People in bright yellow shirts start marching down the parade route with amazing Pikachu balloons. There are also a few men on stilts, cheerleaders, and cute dancing Pikachus in this parade.
To cap off this lovely day, Kim Dao decides to chill with a refreshing cool gelato. She also shows us some great aerial shots of Yokohama.
